The Monster Times (1972-1976)
The Monster Times Publishing Co.
1972 - 1976
Editors: Chuck R. McNaughton, Allen Asherman, Joe Kane, Tom Rogers
TMT no. 1 (Jan. 26, 1972) _TMT no. 2 (Feb. 16, 1972) TMT no. 3 (March 1, 1972)
The world's first monster newspaper was one of the best new monster mags of the '70s and developed a good following in its four year run. Yes, this was published in a newspaper format! Each issue contained a feature article on a (current or classic) horror or sci-fi film, movie and book reviews, news of upcoming comics and sci-fi conventions and ads for fanzines. The Monster Times also had a lot of comics related articles and illustrations by popular comic book writers and artists (who contributed art for many of the covers and pull-out posters).
TMT no. 4 (March 15, 1972) TMT no. 5 (March 29, 1972) TMT no. 6 (April 12, 1972)
TMT no. 7 (April 26, 1972) TMT no. 8 (May 10, 1972) _TMT no. 9 (May 17, 1972)
The publication lasted for 48 issues. At first published bi-weeky, its schedule was less frequent and its page count dropped off in its later issues. Joe ( "Phantom of the Movies" ) Kane was editor from #11 through #48. I think I don't have any of the issues - I may have one stashed away somewhere, but it would be a later issue.

Monster Times rumor
THERE WAS A RUMOR OF A 'BEST OF MONSTER TIMES' TO BE PUBLISHED BUT SO FAR THAT RUMOR HAS BEEN DETERMINED AS PROBABLY FALSE. HERE IS THE COVER OF WHAT IT MAY HAVE LOOKED LIKE:
Dinosaur Times
Much later, in conjunction with the release of the first JURASSIC PARK film in 1993, we saw the publication of DINOSAUR TIMES. This was also printed in the newspaper format.
Only 2 or 3 issues were produced.
