Air Date: 01/22/72 alien produced by Francis Ford Coppola, just before he directed The Godfather

Interesting and lyrical telefim based on the sf short stories of Zenna Henderson (dating back to the fifties) about a group of human-looking aliens who had crash-landed on Earth years earlier and, as best they can, live secluded lives among humans. Their own planet had been destroyed by some cataclysm. In the film, the main character (Kim Darby) is a young schoolteacher who arrives at the isolated community as the latest replacement for a string of failed teachers there. She is someone who is running from her own life, such as a broken relationship with a boyfriend. She is quickly put off by the strange, unfriendly attitudes of the people, as well as the strange children, who all shuffle their feet when walking and seem to have no interests in normal children's activities. Very soon, the teacher becomes aware of the powers these people have, involving telepathy and telekinesis. The only other human in the area is the local doctor (played with uncharacteristic restraint by William Shatner). BoG's Score: 7 out of 10
