I just watched her during the latest Twilight Zone marathon on the Syfy Channel a few days ago... she appeared in the episode The After Hours (1960) as a lady who enters a department store and eventually finds out she will never leave. She later showed up in the episode Jess-Belle (1963). But, she is best known in sf circles for her role in Forbidden Planet (1956), perhaps the most famous sf film of the fifties. She portrayed Alta, daughter of scientist Morbius, residing on another planet - Altair IV; her character falls in love with the captain of a space crew who had recently arrived on the planet.

Francis lent a slightly mischievous bent to this and many of her roles. She also starred in The Satan Bug (1965) and portrayed Honey West in the series of the same name from 1965 to 1966. Other roles were in the film Brainstorm (1965), an episode of The Invaders, The Saucer (1967) and several episodes of Fantasy Island (1978-1981). Rest in Peace, Ms. Francis.
