#02: The Collectors
Air Date: 09/23/77 written by James Schmerer Directed by Alexander Singer
The trio of Logan, Jessica and Rem are stuck in the middle of the desert somewhere (picturesque in its own way), due to a breakdown in their hovercraft. While Rem works on repairing the craft, Logan & Jessica wander over a hill and spot a lush paradise; it might be Sanctuary?! Once in the park-like setting, the two encounter a young woman (Angela Cartwright) who informs them that this is indeed Sanctuary, where all runners from the City of Domes eventually end up. She leads the two to "The Protector" (Linden Chiles) and his female partner (Leslie Parrish), the ones who run the place. Pretty soon, Jessica is meeting up with an old friend who ran from the city years ago...By that point, the astute viewer might notice that events appear to be happening in accordance with the wishful thinking of Jessica and Logan. And, Logan is indeed beginning to get suspicious that not all is as it appears to be. This serves to underscore Logan's cop background, while Jessica is more naive and innocent. What is the reality of the situation? The two main hosts are
Logan's Trivia: Angela Cartwright here is in a rare role away from her Lost in Space habitat. Randy Powell as Francis does not appear in this episode. Star Trek TOS actor alert: Parrish appeared in Who Mourns For Adonis as Lt. Palmer; her attire here actually recalls the earlier role.

- Spoiler:
- aliens from another star system who have been collecting specimens in twos planet to planet; Logan & Jessica are to be the latest acquisitions. The kink in the plan is android Rem. This develops into a cutesy atmosphere by the conclusion; also indicative of the show's sometimes weak nature is the scene of the heroes meeting the various freed aliens; they behave like they meet strange-looking aliens all the time - didn't they live secluded lives in a City of Domes up until recently?
