episode #13 - The Lost Ones
THE LOST ONES - episode #13 / production #6 / Air Date: 1/5/69
written by Bob & Esther Mitchell; Directed by Harry Harris
This one does have a slightly higher excitement level than average due to seeing the equivalent of a biker gang or 'The Lost Boys' among the little people. This quartet of punks are the last of a group of 28 who arrived in an aircraft some time back. Their leader (played by Zalman King in quasi-method style) is on the psycho side and is convinced that the regulars work with the giants to trap/capture little people. There's a giant trapper walking about, setting down traps like he's hunting for mice (which doesn't speak well for the intelligence level of little people).
This furthers the scenario that there are (not just may be) other groups of little people, so the regulars are not very unique (but I wonder why Major Kagan in The Weird World episode thought he was alone; of course, he was in a gopher hole usually). On the downside, this spotlights the problem with many episodes: much of this involves the efforts to free someone from a trap - it gets repetitive and downright dull after a while. There are a few fight scenes, however - more than usual.
BoG's Score: 5.5 out of 10
