The Wasp Woman
Here's where the limitations of such low budget features show: to prove that his enzyme extract works as a youth serum, the scientist tries an on-the-spot experiment with a small mammal; I think it was meant to show how a large old rat changes into a small baby rat; however, the large rat looks like a large guinnea pig. The strength of the picture rests on Susan Cabot in the lead role; she gives an effective, professional performance. The better scenes are the early ones - her inner struggle with aging and then the abrupt change to her younger self. In later scenes, she changes into a wasp version of The Fly (1958). There's also a 'wasp-cat' creature (just a cat with minor attachments). BoG's Score: 5 out of 10
