Paul Mantee (1931 - 2013)
Paul Mantee, who made a mark in science fiction cinema with his starring role in ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS (1964), died on Nov.7th at age 82.
Mantee played the central role of an astronaut stranded on Mars in the now-famous '64 sci-fi film and had to carry the whole film by himself for a good portion of it. The film also co-starred Adam West in a small role and Vic Lundin.
Mantee also starred as secret agent Dick Dagger in one of the numerous James Bond knock-offs of the sixties, A Man Called Dagger (1966). His other genre roles include Day of the Animals (1977) and The Manitou (1978). He also guest-starred in episodes of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Logan's Run. R.I.P.
