#04: The Robot

The one with Robby the Robot - he plays a robot called "Alpha-1" or "Alfie" as a nickname, tinkered together by Samuel, who apparently is some kind of robotics and computer genius. The robot has actual a.i. but is clumsy at first, irritating Jonah. The ships's instruments detect strange gasses nearby and the crew find out that this is affecting the minds of a nearby settlement, turning people into mindless walkers. Jonah orders Samuel to shut down Alfie but the robot breaks free, heading to the location of the problem. Jonah thinks the robot has "flipped its circuits" but it has swiftly evolved into a superior mechanism which can solve the problem - though perhaps not without sacrifice.  BoG's Score: 6 out of 10
