The Ark II crew learn of a small society where the young rule over the old and come upon a village ruled by a computer with malevolent a.i. capability. The machine can control younger minds easier and takes over Samuel. Jonah has to navigate a chessboard type surface to outmaneuver the computer. However, it falls to the chimp, Adam, to deliver the winning move, mainly because the machine is unfamiliar with such an animal of heightened intelligence. Early role for Helen Hunt as a young girl living in the village. This offered an interesting counterpoint to the benevolent artificial intelligence of the previous episode, The Robot. BoG's Score: 6 out of 10

Star Trek TOS actor alert: Harry Townes plays the young girl's grandfather, partially resistant to the computer's mind control due to his age; he played a similar role and in a similar plot in the TOS episode Return of the Archons
