Episode #83: Final Mission
FINAL MISSION episode #9 of 4th season / Air Date: 12/2/90
written by Kasey Arnold-Ince, Jeri Taylor; Directed by Corey Allen
Yes, the final mission of Wesley Crusher... OK, not quite. Wesley is finally on his way to Starfleet Academy - a spot opens up and he is to report there in 2 weeks. Before he goes, Picard wants him to help in some judiciary matter (really?); he accompanies Picard, who is on his way to mediate a dispute with some ornery miners; they are ferried by a crusty pilot in an old little ship which looks like it's about to fall apart (the pilot is played by Nick Tate, famous to Space:1999 fans). Sure enuff, things go to hell quickly; they crash-land on some desert planet - actually a moon (think Pitch Black-2000).
