A standard monster-on-the-loose in a secluded setting, this time in an undersea installation, this was one of the low-budget undersea thrillers released in the same year as The Abyss; the other well-known one was Leviathan. The thing is, the monster doesn't appear until the 2nd half; and, deaths are caused by other means, like malfunctioning doors and a spastic crew member (Ferrer) - there's always that one loser who is almost as much trouble as the monster. I don't know what this creature's problem was - it's this big mouth crab-like thing, but it didn't look like humans would be a part of its menu and I don't understand why it was so hostile towards them or from where it came from. The cast starts out with a total of 11 and, as is standard for these pics, gets whittled away until only a couple are left. BoG's Score: 6 out of 10
