Episode #28, segment 2 - Lost and Found
#28b: LOST AND FOUND (episode #4 of 2nd season)
written by George R.R.Martin based on Phyllis Eisenstein's story Directed by Gus Trikonis
A short and cute little episode about the possibilities of time travel. Two college roommates (Akousa Busia, Cindy Harrell) return to their dorm room; one of them discovers that a couple of her personal items are suddenly missing; she also finds a book on political history that wasn't there before. Then she hears something in the closet. Her roommate thinks she's losing it but, sure enuff, there are a couple of strange people in the closet. This becomes a turning point in the life of at least one of the young women.
This one doesn't quite work the way it was supposed to. There are a few clumsy aspects to the whole story, even if it was meant to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Why would these time travel tourists be so careless in such a tricky endeavor as time traveling? Why would it be allowed by whomever controls this travel, for another thing? What's with the book? I wish this accidental meeting was written as more feasible instead of just plain ridiculous. It all comes off as a lame one-note joke and the acting by the tourists is amateurish. The concept was pretty good, just poorly executed. BoG's Score: 5 out of 10
