episode #03, segment 3: Kentucky Rye

#3c: KENTUCKY RYE - Directed by John Hancock
This one transpires to be a harsh indictment of drunk drivers - don't drink and drive! You just may end up in the tavern from hell!  Or, is that a tavern in hell?  The main character (Jeffrey DeMunn) is kind of a prototypical obnoxious, boorish modern male who tends to be irresponsible at times. Perhaps his biggest fault is that he's not a young man - like in his early twenties - and should know better.
He's driving while inebriated and runs another car off the road; he himself ends up in a ditch and walks into a nearby bar. The episode tries to get by on style but it's pretty tedious. There's not much surprise in the ending. There were a few similar old TZ episodes, about comeuppance, and this one just seems like a lame copy. BoG's Score: 6 out of 10
