Episode #33, segment 3 - Private Channel
#33c: PRIVATE CHANNEL (episode #9 of 2nd season)
written by Edward Redlich Directed by Peter Medak
A typical obnoxious young punk enamored of his headphones boards an airplane on his way somewhere. There's a storm during the flight and, when lightning hits, his headphones are zapped in such a way that he can hear the thoughts of people when wearing them. Unfortunately, the passenger (Andy Robinson, back from Profile in Silver) seated next to him is planning to blow himself up along with the aircraft, as revenge for his family getting killed on another flight.
This was a short segment and is one of the few that may have benefited from an expanded running time. There's no chance for any tension to be generated. The whole thing comes off as a rushed skit, with too many convenient scenes, including the disposal of the special headphones at the end. BoG's Score: 5 out of 10
