episode #10, segment 3: Opening Day
#10c: OPENING DAY - written by Gerritt Graham, Chris Hubbell; Directed by John Milius
Big-time film director Milius oversaw this one but ended up with a minor mess, probably because the script was confusing. A wife and her lover (Martin Kove) plot to kill her husband (Jeffrey Jones) during a party. The two men go duck hunting and the lover does the bad deed. But, when he returns to the widow's home, he's greeted as her husband by the kids; he has apparently taken the dead husband's place. Then there's another party.
This is already a WTF episode at this point, filled with questionable behavior even from minor characters, like cops who do not suspect a crime has taken place. Then it ends with an enigmatic look from the wife - WTF squared! BoG's Score: 3 out of 10
