The Creeping Terror (1964)
An extra low budget mess hampered by added problems such as a missing soundtrack, hence the narration to try and fill in all the gaps. The plot: an alien spaceship (actually stock footage of one of our rockets going in reverse) lands, disgorging a walking carpet-type-of-killer alien onto the countryside. The very slow-moving creature gobbles up plenty of young folk who forget to run (or to just walk away fast). There's another creature left inside the spaceship. The main protagonists are a couple of local deputy sheriffs, a scientist, and a squad of soldiers. This actually has a warped kind of documentary feel to it but is just too plodding and beyond ridiculous. Similar to Monster a-Go-Go (65). BoG's Score: 1 out of 10
Creeping Trivia: some unexpected flash of nudity at the 49-minute mark; during the film's centerpiece, when the monster invades a local dancehall, some guys inexplicably begin to fight amongst themselves; one of them rips the top off a lady, exposing her breasts for a second. This was probably unplanned. MST3K ran this as one of their episodes:
