episode #05 - Terror-go-round
TERROR-GO-ROUND episode #5 / production #16 / Air Date: 11/3/68
written by Charles Bennett; Directed by Sobey Martin
The group of littles run afoul of a unscrupulous traveling carnival showman (Joe Ruskin), patterned on the movie gypsies of Earth. This carnival is merely a 3-member grouping, plus a bear. This carnival man, Carlos, plans to sell the little people to a circus. His nephew, young boy Pepi, is sympathetic to the littles, but is frightened of his uncle. This one is tedious, a real time-killer; most of it takes place at this single site and much of the 'action' involves looking for spark plugs for the truck.
There's one interesting bit when the writers come up with an unusual way to torture one of the little people: Carlos is an expert at hoops; he ties Mark to a small pole and begins to throw these metallic rings at him; when he throws correctly, the rings land surrounding Mark but not touching him. If Carlos gets irritated, however... This does climax with an unusual method of travel for the little ones. BoG's Score: 4.5 out of 10
Giants Trivia: Star Trek TOS actor alert - actor Ruskin played a strange alien named Galt in the episode The Gamesters of Triskelion
