Night Fright (1967)
This film's familiar beginning has been done - we all know the scenario: a young couple is necking in a car and then something comes along and attacks them (probably killing them). For a nearly identical first few minutes, see, for example, the start of The Giant Gila Monster (59). However, the unofficial remake of this - an alien monster or monsters doing the attacking - seems to be Don Dohler's The Alien Factor (78). As the sheriff, John Agar stars at the time his career was going into serious decline. The victims or potential victims are local college students. What is strange is that this film also has the same stiff amateurish acting as Dohler's film. It seems that amateur filmmakers found this basic plot ideal for their sf films. BoG's Score: 2 out of 10

The sheriff investigating the deaths discovers the startling identity of the killer responsible for the murders. A NASA experiment involving cosmic rays has mutated an alligator into an ogre-like form and bullet-proof unstoppable killing machine with a thirst for blood.
